This project began with the construction of a custom modular type system built on a strict grid. Using a limited set of geometric forms, I designed a cohesive alphabet structure and applied it to five selected letters. Color theory was then introduced to produce a series of color-driven compositions that explored contrast, balance, and visual hierarchy while maintaining the integrity of the underlying grid.
In the final phase, I intentionally used Adobe Firefly’s generative AI as a design tool rather than a shortcut, experimenting with prompt-based image generation to push and test its limits. I trained the system using my own typographic designs as the visual foundation, treating them as controlled inputs to guide the AI’s output. This process allowed me to analyze where my human decisions shaped the results and where the system introduced variation or unpredictability. The project ultimately serves as both a typographic exploration and a critical study of authorship, control, and the role of AI within contemporary design workflows.
